Char Catalyst 5066

Non-Halogen Flame Retardant Synergist

Overview

Char Catalyst 5066 is surface treated nanoclay useful for dispersing free intumescent flame retardant useful as an additive for polyolefins, epoxy, and thermoset coatings.

The addition of Char Catalyst 5066 can allow the reduction in flame retardant usage by levels up to 25% without loss in flame retardant properties. Suggested starting point use levels are 1-3% by weight of the flame retardant usage.

Char Catalyst 5066 contains approximately 30-40% of a dialkyl ammonium (cationic) surfactant on the surface of montmorillonite clay. The product does contain up to 2% respirable crystalline silica. Nuisance respirable dust levels should be controlled below 5 mg/m3.
