UNIPLEX MS-70
is a resin used primarily in nail polish formulations in conjunction
with nitrocellulose to improve durability and gloss. It is sold as an approx 70% solution in butyl
acetate.
UNIPLEX MS-70 is typically used in nail polishes on
an equal weight basis to nitrocellulose for base coat enamel. Top coat enamels are formulated with one part
Uniplex MS-70 to three parts nitrocellulose.
UNIPLEX MS-70 can be used in polyvinyl acetate
adhesives to impart quick tack and green strength. It is especially useful for formulations used
to bond cellophane to itself or to paper,
and for bonding aluminum foil to itself or to paper. Usually 10 - 15 parts Uniplex MS-70 is used
per 100 parts polyvinyl acetate emulsion.
