Fluorochemical
Additive
Description: A solid
fluorochemical polyester containing 46 % aliphatic
fluorine.
This product is useful in improving water, alcohol, and oil
repellence of various vinyl polymeric
systems. Resin systems
compounded with this product have high
chemical flame resistance,
minimal thermal discoloration, and
excellent light stability and
dielectric properties. The normal starting use level is 1800-4000
ppm
Fluorine to achieve the above mentioned
properties.
Applications: Soil resistant PVC Resins for outdoor
uses.
Medical applications (non-wovens) as an
internal additive where resistance to alcohol, blood, and urine (low surface
tensions fluids) is required. A short annealing time at 110°C is required
for the fluorochemical additive to migrate to the surface.
