4. FIRST AID MEASURES
Inhalation: Remove to fresh air if coughing, soreness in respiratory tract, chest tightness, or difficulty in breathing occurs. Long term exposure may cause pneumonia.
Eye Contact: Immediately flush with large quantities of water for at least 15 minutes, while holding the eyelids open. Do not attempt to neutralize with chemical agents. Contact a physician if irritation persists.
Skin Contact: Immediately remove contaminated clothing and flush area with large quantities of water for at least 15 minutes. Contact a physician if irritation persists.
Ingestion: If patient is conscious, give several glasses of water for dilution effect and contact a physician. Do not induce vomiting. Do not give an unconscious person anything by mouth.
5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
Flash Point: Not applicable
General Hazard: This product sinks in water.
Fire Fighting Instructions: Extinguishing media--water spray; carbon dioxide; foam; or dry chemical. Cool exposed containers with water spray. Wear self-contained breathing apparatus in confined areas.
Hazardous Combustion Products: Combustion in the presence of other materials may result in the release of Hydrogen Bromide and/or Bromide.
6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
Land Spill: Sweep up spills and place in labeled waste container(s) for disposal.
Water Spill: Use appropriate containment to avoid runoff or release to sewer or waterways.
7. HANDLING AND STORAGE
Storage Temperature: Ambient Storage Pressure: Pressureless
General: Store in closed containers in a cool, dry area.
8. EXPOSURE CONTROL/PERSONAL PROTECTION
Engineering Controls: Local exhaust ventilation recommended to minimize dusting.
Personal Protection: Cup type safety goggles, with neoprene gloves.
Respirator: None required under normal conditions of use. Wear NIOSH approved dust respirator where dusting occurs.
Protective Clothing: Rubber or plastic apron.

10. STABILITY AND REACTIVITY
General: Stable. Hazardous polymerizing will not occur.
Incompatible Materials and Conditions to Avoid: None known. Combustion in the presence of other fuels may result in the release of hydrogen bromide.
Hazardous Decomposition: Hydrogen Bromide and /or Bromine may be released.
11. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION
Not listed as a carcinogen by IARC, NTP, OSHA, or ACGIH.
Acute oral LD50 (rats) is greater than 21.5g/kg. Acute dermal LD50 (rabbits) is greater than 3g/kg.
The compound is minimally irritating to the eye and is slightly irritating to the skin of rabbits. It is
not a skin sensitizer to guinea pigs. No test animal deaths occurred during 6 hour inhalation exposure and 14 day post exposure period to the compound at a maximum concentration of 28.5 mg/L. The compound is judged non-mutagenic in the Ames test. A 28 day inhalation study
in rats showed some instances of interstitial pneumonia at 1.25 mg/L. No acute health hazards other than irritation are known. Chronic inhalation of dust may cause respiratory effects.
12. ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION
